Perales Location: Grand Avenue and Everts Street Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 55-year-old male was riding a bicycle southbound on 4400 Everts Street approaching a right turn only lane at the intersection with Grand Avenue. The male continued straight through the intersection. A 23-year-old female was driving a Ford Escape eastbound on 1100 Grand Avenue. The male entered the eastbound number one lane and was impacted by the vehicle. The male sustained an open fracture to his tibia/fibula, along with a femur fracture and was transported to a local hospital. San Diego Police Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. Foster Location: 3400 Pacific Hwy Neighborhood: Midtown Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A75 year old female was driving a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica southbound in the #2 lane of 3400 Pacific Hwy. An unidentified male was walking in the middle of the intersection of Pacific Hwy and Sassafras St. The driver did not see the pedestrian and struck him. The male was transported to a local hospital to be treated for fractured pelvis, a fractured right femur and an open fracture to the right tib/fib and head trauma. Traffic units responded and will be handling. Perales Location: 5400 University Avenue Neighborhood: Chollas Creek Type: Hit and Run Fatal Synopsis: At approximately 1850 hours, a 6-year-old male juvenile was crossing mid-block, walking southbound, in the 5400 block of University Avenue when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound in the number two lane. The driver fled the scene and remains unidentified. The male juvenile was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Driver in an unidentified vehicle made a right turn in front of a motorcyclist on Rosecrans Street in Point Loma, then fled the scene. Crash left the motorcyclist hospitalized with a knee injury that may require surgery. #VisionZero

An unknown vehicle driving southbound in the number one lane on 1400 Rosecrans Street and made a right turn onto Fenelon Street from the number one southbound lane. The unknown vehicle struck the 42-year-old male and fled the scene. The 42-year-old male sustained an injury to his knee possibly requiring surgery and was transported to a local hospital. Man on an e-scooter was riding through the alleys of Mission Beach, turned right onto a pedestrian path and the scooter handlebars collapsed. He fell and suffered an open fracture to his left ankle. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 2800 Strandway Neighborhood: Mission Beach Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 54- year old male was riding an Engew electric scooter southbound on 2800 Strandway. The rider began making a turn on to eastbound Cohasset Ct. The handlebars of the scooter collapsed causing the rider to lose control. The rider was ejected from the scooter. He sustained an open fracture to the left ankle. The rider was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the investigation. O'Brien Location: Dayton St/El Cajon Blvd Neighborhood: El Cerrito Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 35- year old male was driving a Tesla Model Y eastbound on El Cajon Blvd, approaching the intersection with Dayton St. A 24-year old female was driving a Honda Civic westbound on El Cajon Blvd, approaching the intersection with Dayton St. The Tesla had a green light, but made a left turn in front of the Honda violating its right of way. The Tesla and Honda collided in the intersection. The driver of the Honda was transported by ambulance to a local hospital , and was treated for a fractured left femur and a lacerated liver. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the investigation. DUI is not suspected. Perales Location: 1200 Pershing Drive Neighborhood: Balboa Park Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 53-year-old male was riding his e-scooter southbound 1200 Pershing Drive in the bike lane. For unknown reasons, the male made a movement to the right and exited the roadway. The male rode into dirt, where he lost control of his scooter and impacted the ground. The male sustained a brain bleed, cheek fracture, fractured ribs, a fractured clavicle, and a scapular fracture. The male was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Perales Location: 2250 Main Street Neighborhood: Egger Highlands Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: An 86-year-old male was riding his bicycle northbound on Alamitos Avenue at Main Street. The 86-year-old male crossed the eastbound lanes and entered the westbound lanes of Main Street. As the 86-year-old male reached the westbound number two lane, he was struck by a 39-year-old male driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 2250 Main Street. The 86-year-old male sustained a fractured scapula, fractured ankle, fractured foot, and a blood clot around the brain. The 86-year-old male was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. San Diego Police Traffic Division will be handling the investigation.

O'Brien Location: 119 West C St Neighborhood: Core-Columbia Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 54-year old male was riding a bicycle west in the westbound lane of 100 West C Street. A 50-year old male was operating the MTS trolley on the westbound trolley lane. The trolley lanes were separated from the travel lanes by flexible delineators. The bicyclist rode southwest into the trolley lane in front of the trolley. The trolley collided with the bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined the bicyclist sustained life threatening head injuries, and is not expected to survive. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded to the scene and is handling the collision investigation. Perales Location: 4100 Sports Arena Boulevard Neighborhood: Midway Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 70-year-old male was riding a bicycle northbound in the marked bicycle lane on the 4100 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. A 29-year-old male was driving a 1992 Mazda pickup northbound in the adjacent traffic lane. The 70-year-old male turned left from the bicycle lane into the path of the 29-year-old male. The 70- year-old male was ejected from the bicycle, sustained fractured ribs, a tibia fracture, a fibula fracture, a collapsed lung, and was transported to a local hospital. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. Incident: 30968 BegDateTime: 09/21/25 21:15 EndDateTime: Beat: 122 Watch Commander: Woodell Location: Ingraham Street and Oliver Avenue Neighborhood: Pacific Beach Type: Serious Injury Accident Synopsis: A 31 year old female (P-2) was driving a Mazda CX-5 vehicle (V-2) Northbound in the #1 lane of Ingraham Street at Oliver Avenue. A 57 year old male (P-1) was riding Eastbound on his bicycle on Oliver Avenue and proceeded into the intersection with Ingraham Street after failing to stop for a stop sign. P-1 broadsided P- 2. P-1 was knocked to the ground in front of V-2. P-2 exited V-2 without placing V-2 into park. V-2 rolled over P-1. P-2 tried to re-enter V-2 and unintentionally pressed the accelerator. P-2 collided with a curb and a metal gate. P-1 suffered multiple fractured ribs. DUI was not a factor in this event. Traffic Division officers investigated this accident. A 31 year old female (P-1) was walking Southbound in the Eastbound #1 lane of La Jolla Village Drive from the center median and into P-2’s path of travel. P-2 collided with P-1. P-1 was declared deceased at the hospital. DUI was not a factor in this event. Traffic Division officers investigated the accident.

O'Brien Location: 1400 S. 43rd St. Neighborhood: Mountain View Type: Hit and Run Collision (Injury) Synopsis: Fault has yet to be determined: A 43-year old male was riding a purple Harley Davidson motorcycle. He turned northbound from 4300 Beta St to 1400 S 43rd. St. The motorcyclist veered from the northbound number two lane, to the northbound number one lane. He stated a vehicle overtook him from behind, passed him on the left, then made a movement to the right. The vehicle collided with the motorcycle, causing the motorcyclist to fall to the ground. The vehicle left the scene continuing northbound on 43rd St. The motorcyclist described it as a dark colored sedan. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He sustained a fractured right clavicle and abrasions to the right elbow. The injuries were not considered life threatening. S.D.P.D. A waste hauler drove over the left leg of a man who was laying on the ground in an alley in Hillcrest. The man suffered multiple serious injuries to his ankle and foot, including "degloving" — when tissue is ripped off the bone. Victim is expected to survive. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: W/A 4000 Front St. Neighborhood: Hillcrest Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: FAULT HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED: A 25-year old male was driving a waste management truck southbound in the west alley of 4000 Front St. A 41-year old male was lying in the west alley of 4000 Front St. As the vehicle drove past the male, it appears he placed his left leg in the path of the waste management truck. The truck drove over the male's leg. The male suffered a left lateral open ankle, and 5th metatarsal fracture. He also sustained a significant degloving of his left foot. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined his injuries were non life threatening. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded, and is handling the investigation. A 21-year-old woman drove onto a closed park pathway near Liberty Station and struck a 5-year-old girl, who suffered life threatening head injuries. The woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI. #VisionZero

An unidentified driver struck and killed a 50-year-old woman who was pushing a shopping cart on Morena Boulevard in Bay Park. Driver fled the scene. No witnesses, no vehicle description. #VisionZero

Neighborhood: Bay Park Type: Hit and Run Collision (Fatal) Synopsis: A fifty-year old female was pushing a shopping cart in the northbound number two lane of 3000 Morena Bl. She was stuck by a vehicle travelling northbound on 3000 Morena Bl. The vehicle fled the scene following the collision. At this time there are no witnesses to the collision. There is no description on the suspect vehicle or driver available. An uninvolved party saw the female pedestrian laying in the street and called 911. The pedestrian was unconscious and had sustained open fractures to both shins. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. S.D.P.D. Perales Location: 6400 Mount Soledad Road Neighborhood: La Jolla Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 57-year-old male was driving an electric moped south on 6400 Soledad Mountain Road. A 46-year-old male was driving north on 6400 Soledad Mountain Road in a 2014 Nissan Altima Sedan. As both vehicles were approaching the T-intersection of Soledad Mountain Road & Caminito Blytheville the 57-year-old male began a left turn from the southbound travel lane, violating the 46-year-old male’s right of way. The 57-year- old male impacted with the 46-year-old male’s vehicle. The 46-year-old male was uninjured. The 57-year-old male was transported to a local hospital and sustained a collapsed lung, broken rib and a laceration to his arm. The 57-year-old male 's injuries are considered life threatening. The 57-year-old male was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. San Diego Police Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. SDPD Watch Commander's Log Page 1 of 1 Incident: 33283 BegDateTime: 08/23/25 2:58 EndDateTime: Beat: 444 Watch Commander: Officer D. O'Brien Location: 3500 Market St. Neighborhood: Mt. Hope Type: Hit and Run Collision (Felony/Serious Injury) Synopsis: A Ford Fusion was driving eastbound in the number 2 lane of 3500 Market St at a high rate of speed. The Fusion rear ended a 45 year old male who was riding a motorcycle in the eastbound number 2 lane of 3500 Market St. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined the motorcyclist sustained a brain bleed and fractured pelvis. The Ford Fusion fled the scene following the collision. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and conducted a collision investigation. During the investigation the Fusion was located unoccupied in National City. The driver was located and arrested. 19-year-old driver drifted onto the sidewalk of Carmel Valley Rd, lost control, careened across the roadway and struck an oncoming car driven by an 18-year-old. Both drivers were hospitalized. The 19-year-old suffered life-threatening brain injuries and multiple fractures. #VisionZero

O'Brien Location: 15000 Carmel Valley Rd Neighborhood: Black Mountain Ranch Type: Serious Injury Collision Synopsis: A 19-year old male was driving a gray Honda Civic eastbound on 15000 Carmel Valley Rd at a high rate of speed. The vehicle drifted to the right onto the south sidewalk. The driver lost control, and continued across the eastbound lanes and onto the center median. The civic collided with a tree, and continued northeast across the westbound lanes of Carmel Valley Rd. An 18 year old male was driving a white Honda Accord westbound in the number 2 lane of 15000 Carmel Valley Rd. The Civic collided with the Accord. The driver of the Civic was ejected from the vehicle. Both drivers were transported buy ambulance to a local hospital. It was determined the driver of the Civic sustained life threatening brain injuries and several fractures. S.D.P.D Traffic Division responded and is handling the collision investigation. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the collision.
