Adding another Fulci 4K to the collection ✅

I'll be forced to like Conquest this time. I've seen a lot worse since (and that counts other Fulci films). Also interested in Jack the Ripper. Kinski never fails to disappoint!
Lucio Fulci’s Conquest UHD/2XBlu-ray/CD set & Jess Franco’s Jack the Ripper UHD/Blu-ray set now available to pre-order at both Cauldron-films.com & DiabolikDVD.com!

This has the same basic outline as any scientist-turned-monster movie, and part of the ending makes me think that Fred Sears ripped a bit of the third act for his film 'The Werewolf' in 1956.

I'm sure everyone was ripping off one another back then just to get another movie out. Gotta make that $$$
36. The Neanderthal Man (1953)
dir. E.A. Dupont

I'm sure like most 50s creature features there's nothing new here, but why not watch it anyways?

Didn't even notice Woody Harrelson was in this. Now I'm 100% locked in even if it's bad
35. Bay Cove/Eye of the Demon (1987)
dir. Carl Schenkel

Felt like I needed a mysterious town/witch flick, and this was already on my Tubi watchlist

This is also a killer poster. Everything about it fits the movie perfectly, in its slimy, wormy goodness
30. Squirm (1976)
dir. Jeff Lieberman

Snow is shoveled, time to watch a creature feature before the next round outside 💪

This sleet ruined the chance of having a memorable day of snow. Of course, my neighbors still don't know how to shovel so that will make for a fun commute this week

Oooof. Almost walked out but stuck through it. Not the greatest.
26. Return to Silent Hill (2026)
dir. Christophe Gans

A late showing and the ratings are low. I bet I'll love it

I wish my @vinsyn.bsky.social delivery good luck as it's just been sent out in the calm before the literal snowstorm that's about to bombard the east coast. I'll see it eventually 🫡

I've finally completed my John Carpenter collection with the addition of the new Dark Star 4K. It has admittedly taken me longer than I thought it would, considering he's my favorite director. Now on to getting them in 4K!

***PRE-ORDER ANNOUNCEMENT #2***
Our second title today is 2004's HAIR HIGH, a hand-drawn animation feature making its U.S. Blu-ray debut, with a stacked voice cast, a bucketload of high school body horror, and a science teacher with a VERY bad smoker's cough!

Halloween was released in '78.

Today, John Carpenter turns 78.

Happy Birthday to the man who gave us all-timers including Halloween, The Fog, Christine, The Thing, They Live, Big Trouble in Little China, and Escape from NY.

Living legend. Horror master. We love you, John.

I can already tell that I'm going to be watching a lot of horror this year to escape from the horrors of reality 🙃

Not their permanent location and propped up by my Universal Monster VHSs...but they go from live-action then thru the animated collection in spine order. Cant wait for Treasures of Soviet Animation Vol. 3!

Happy Birthday to the Master of Horror, John Carpenter!

Already planning which of his films I'll watch later. I'm thinking Starman and Vampires since it's been a minute for both

Regional, low-budget horrors like these are such a mixed bag. On one hand, I love the ability to make a film on a shoestring budget. On the other, they're mostly not good. I find it fascinating that a movie like Carnival of Souls escaped this to stand on its own amongst its peers
9-11. Blood-A-Rama Triple Frightmare
from AGFA

Help Me...I'm Possessed! (1974)
dir. Charles Nizet

Night of the Strangler (1972)
dir. Joy N. Houck Jr.

Carnival of Blood (1970)
dir. Leonard Kirtman

Watching this in the full drive-in mode, including trailers and ads!

WW2 bombing-revived vampire isn't how I expected this to kick off. Almost like a pre-atomic age monster movie utilizing the monsters of old. Also funny considering Lugosi's role in 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' a decade later
8. The Return of the Vampire (1943)
dir. Lew Landers

From the director of the 1935 'The Raven', and starring Bela Lugosi as a vampire! Again!
