New pains for past couple days, feels like bladder is getting squished. Probably is. Waking me up at night. Would like to be rid of these faulty parts.

Made it three months without significant degradation of kidney function. Go me.

So, in an effort to distract myself from...everything...I've been playing around with ax25 programming. Simple client/server stuff that works great with UDP, just converting it to ax25 instead. The code is simple. Actually running it is not, and requires extra steps: socat and kissattach.

2m/440 whip broke at some point during the excitement of the massive storm system that rampaged through the southeast over the weekend. Replaced, because who doesn't enjoy buying new whips every now and then...

Making good use of local library. Unrelated.

The FCC has given notice regarding their intent to deregulate the airwaves to promote economic growth.

There is so little detail given regarding what, specifically, they intend to deregulate that it is against the entire concept of regulation of a public resource.

looks like the plan will be peritoneal dialysis, probably at home, starting...whenever I need it. Kind of looking at late summer or early fall, but it will depend on my numbers.

I hope this choice wasn't a mistake, but it was my choice. PD seems slightly less scary.

Not going without a fight.

Not going to lie, I am nervous as hell about this dialysis evaluation. Hemodialysis in particular really worries me. Peritoneal doesn't sound like a picnic either but at least it keeps the system closed, more or less.

The news that trials for genetically modified pig kidneys for human transplantation will begin sometime this year is pretty great. It will most likely not be available rapidly enough for my needs.

I'm to be evaluated for dialysis access placement soon. Fun times.

Matt here. Probably won't use this site much, especially since I couldn't get the username I wanted, but mainly because I hate twitter and this isn't much different.

Anyway, I really need a kidney: matt.needsakidney.org

Thanks.
