Nurse practitioner, researcher, supporter of mental health in medical folks. I do injury science, with a focus on equity. I speak for no one but myself.
I often feel that I should not share the realities that come with my job to people who haven’t chosen to see what guns do to human bodies. Maybe it’s time to reflect on that policy.

Naomi Beinart, 16: "We girls woke up to a country that would rather elect a man found liable for sexual abuse than a woman...Where the body I haven’t fully grown into may no longer be under my control. The boys, it seemed to me, just woke up on a Wednesday."
Opinion | I’m 16. On Nov. 5 the Girls Cried, and the Boys Played Minecraft.
On the day after the election, it seemed boys and girls woke to a new reality.

Sense of impending doom in a patient is absolutely butt pucker time. Assuming that goes for a nation as well.

I would love to tell you about the times vaccines prevented me from getting sick, but every time it happens, I don’t notice. I just keep feeling well.

Neither do you.
