See what your @last.fm friends are listening to at the same time. This is something I've seen asked for by many people, the idea of getting a Spotify-style friends are listening feature for last.fm

I found these new stations when reading this great article by @emwhitenoise.bsky.social on Gen Z's College Radio Revival.

I pushed some improvements to the WFMU stations. Was having an issue where it wouldn’t show the data at times because the metadata format can change from show to show.

Interesting study that employed lastfm data. Do you agree with the results?
The University of Gothenburg is highlighting work on how musical preference evolve as we age that we (A.M. Golubovikj, @recsysmare.bsky.social, B. Ferwerda) published at #umap2025 earlier this year. www.gu.se/en/news/we-g...

And on top of the station adds, I’ve added some rough station filtering, so you can narrow down the huge list of stations a bit

Just in case people were under the impression that playlists can only get traction on Spotify.

🗣Reminder that @flirtfm.ie is off FM broadcast in Galway city until August 25th but 'The Human Recommendation' radio show continues on the web stream on flirtfm.ie at 8pm each Monday!

I love listening to Kids Disco on @radiomilwaukee.bsky.social on the weekend. Today’s theme is old school hip hop.

In mentioning all these, I would much more readily watch these performances if I could scrobble them without it being a pain in the ass. Tiny Desk sessions that have track by track timeline markers are wonderful, they just don’t happen all the time.
Counterpoint, KEXP performances are part of the same ecosystem as Tiny Desk, Tiny Desk just has a broader distribution network though NPR stations. WNXP, KUTX Studio 1A, Apple Music Sessions and Triple J Like A Version are all great and worth exploring. Neither KEXP or TD are the final word.

I swear @last.fm really needs to do an awareness campaign on all the ways music can be scrobbled. So many people seem to be under the impression Apple Music/YouTube Music/TIDAL/Deezer/Amazon Music simply can't be scrobbled, when that is simply false. Spotify isn't the lone platform you can scrobble.

It warmed my heart today when I was looking at the Matomo analytics for ScrobbleRadio and noticed someone has very clearly installed the app on their local and modified the shit out of the stations for their own purposes. Love to see it, especially since I’ve been tremendously lax in documenting.

This Old Music App Is Still Miles Better Than Spotify For Finding New Music. While Spotify might grab the headlines with flashy features, Last.fm is still where true music lovers go to dig deeper and discover more.

I noticed this oddity the other day. I’m listening to BTPM The Bridge and they play this song. I notice that it’s got almost no scrobbles, but then discover I’ve heard this song before. I assume it’s duplicates I need to sort out, only to discover I heard this song at 11:27am on 2 different days.
