Saw Superman and enjoyed it. Trying to make up my mind about some things, including whether it feeling more marvel-esque is a good thing, a bad thing, or an inevitable thing (since James Gunn notably made a couple of those) π§΅

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didnβt work, scuffs the eraser didnβt pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and youβre allowed to try again.

"he's union" at the other racetrack our company works at, "so we couldn't fire him there, we're backup contractors." It turns out the previous complaint had been from someone I know who worked up there and stormed out mid workday once because of him. 9/

I wait until the end of the season, write up an email explaining the Issues, and send it to the guy in charge of me asking if he can at minimum be put in a box far away from everyone else. It turns out this is not the first complaint, he won't be working with us anymore but... 8/

Any of this behavior would get him fired asap and no one would want to rehire him bc his personality is hot trash. He's already driving what should be a 1.5 hour commute (but at 300mph) twice a week to get here. Obv there's no work nearby. 7/

I do not immediately report this because it's just him being annoying, looking for a reaction, and it's mid season, and also I'm certain this is the only job he could be fucking hired for: sitting alone in a box far away from people, needed only for 2/30 mins Except he's in MY box now. 6/

When I say "put x up" he puts it in preview, and only makes it live when I say to do it a second time. No anticipation of what's coming. If it comes up wonky he wastes time saying it isn't his fault instead of taking it down. I take the laptop and just do graphics myself. 3/

One of them was a returning camera operator,the other was new. Part of new person's job is hitting the graphics buttons when I tell him to. At first, it's just him searching for the right button, but by day three, it's clear he's literally just. Not bothering. 2/

Here's a #Laborday story: about two years ago, we got robotic cameras at the track. They still need human operators, but the operators no longer have to be out in the weather, so for the first time I was sharing my control booth with the camera people 1/?
