Inflation was just an excuse. Not saying those voters weren’t unhappy about the price of things, but the Trump campaign provided a menu of things to hate, most only loosely based on fact, incl immigration and crime — excuses to vote against the multicultural, modern America that Harris represented.
On Jan 6, Democrats and Republicans were protected by the men and women in blue. On Jan 6, 2022 only two Republicans attended the House session recognizing the events one year prior - Liz Cheney and her father former Vice President Dick Cheney.

The deranged guy currently dictating immigration deportation policy is incapable of seeing the negative impact on America’s economy through his hate. Also, the impact on our worldwide reputation as immigrants complying with instructions to ‘follow the rules’ are picked up at check-ins and hearings.

The RFK Jr. changes re vaccine panel etc. provide a great opportunity for a couple blue states to hire newly fired experts and develop and disseminate sound advice for citizens, doctors and insurers. Maryland is particularly well-positioned to do so. How about it, @govwesmoore.bsky.social ?

The New York Times is writing aggressive stories about Trump's authoritarianism now. If only they'd done that years ago. It's as if a news outlet downplayed the threat of a Cat 5 hurricane but then, after it hit, gave us terrific coverage of the devastation.
