Organizations like @unicef.org have made it clear: funding cuts are threatening our ability to reach millions of children in dire need & putting their lives at risk.

Who is going to stand up for children and their future?

From AIDS medications to treatment for severe acute malnutrition, foreign aid has saved millions of lives in #SouthSudan. But now as much of that funding is slashed, we're already seeing devastating, deadly consequences, writes @nytimes.com' @nickkristof.bsky.social:
Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True. (Gift Article)
A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.

I started working at @unicef.org because of our mission. But, funding cuts are threatening our ability to reach millions of children.

When children’s futures are at stake, who is going to stand up for them? I AM. WE ARE. And YOU can too! #ForEveryChild

So proud and grateful for UNICEF’s team in Gaza- working around the clock to scale up desperately needed humanitarian assistance for millions of vulnerable people.

In the first week of the ceasefire, over 350 UNICEF aid trucks entered Gaza with life-saving supplies for children and families.

We’re working with partners to scale up critical humanitarian aid to meet their urgent needs.

“If you’re feeling dispirited by national or global events, remember the adage that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. It feels like a relief and privilege at this time to be able to do something so positive.”
If you're dispirited by the state of the US or the world, here's my annual giving guide with nonprofits that change the world. One restores lives of women with fistula. One saves children's lives. And one works here in the US to help kids learn to read. Please share! www.nytimes.com/2024/11/23/o...
