A cold front will drop through the Tri-State tonight, bringing scattered snow showers and up to 1" of accumulation (higher amounts northeast of Cincinnati). The trickiest part of forecast is the degree of clearing tomorrow; will lean on the cloudier side of guidance.

Days are now getting "longer". The gap between sunrise and sunset in #Cincinnati will grow by several minutes in the next week and by more than additional half hour by the end of January.

The sky is mostly cloudy tomorrow morning, and scattered snow showers will be favored late in the afternoon. Scattered snow showers will be favored early Thursday, and clouds will mix with sun both Friday and Saturday.

Roads become wet to snowy in spots Wednesday and are snowy in spots early Thursday. The wind is sustained between 5 and 15mph through Sunday. We will deal with scattered snow showers late on Wednesday and scattered snow showers early on Thursday. Wind chills are in the teens and 20s Wednesday AM.

So I made an interesting discovery this afternoon. Caution: weather nerd alert, but here goes. The map attached shows the current Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Roadway Information System (RWIS). It looks like it has recently been expanded. But there's a data problem...

Per radar and guidance trends, scattered snow showers develop tonight, especially northeast of Cincinnati and early in the overnight. Another shot of snow showers comes from late tomorrow afternoon through very early Thursday. In total, it's 1" or less in total accumulation.

With this update, I'll add scattered flurries into the early afternoon forecast based on radar trends, more clouds into the mix this afternoon based on satellite trends, and scattered snow showers into the evening and overnight forecast (especially northeast of Cincy) based on guidance.

Sunrises will be trending later through next Monday. It's at 7:55am in #Cincinnati today, but it's about 7:45am by late January. Sunsets are trending later; they will be near 6pm by this point in January.

Cold wins out this week. We will deal with scattered snow showers late on Wednesday and scattered snow showers early on Thursday. Wind chills are in the single digits and teens Tuesday morning and rise into the teens and 20s tomorrow afternoon. The wind is noticeable the next five days.

The temperature in #Cincinnati is a whopping 49° lower than it was 24 hours ago! That ties for the 7th biggest 24-hour temp drop on record! The wind chill is 64° below where it was at 2pm Sunday. YIKES!

All snow showers end this evening, and clouds will gradually thin out over the next day.

Today's Dimmich's Digit is 46. Between 10pm Sunday and 10am Monday, the temperature dropped 46° in #Cincinnati. That ranks as the 6th largest 12 hour temperature drop on record.

With this update, I'll increase the coverage of snow showers to scattered with accumulations of 1" or less. Despite guidance struggling with temperatures this morning, I'll give us a modest warm up over the next few hours. Wind chills are in the single digits now...far from Sunday's 70° high!

Good morning! Winds will gradually relax today as much colder air wraps into the Tri-State. Temperatures will be in the 20s all day with isolated snow showers. Tuesday and Wednesday are dry, but isolated snow showers return Thursday.

Cincinnati has not only broken today's record high, but we've hit 70°+ for the first time during December since 2015. Wind speeds will increase this evening as a line of storms moves through (arrival 9-11pm along I-75). Winds will *strengthen* overnight...
