Side rant to this I hate the x-punk labels and I think splatterpunk is one where it’s actually appropriate in its usage of counter culture relating it to punk whereas so many uses of the suffix are just another way of saying x-core.
As much as I enjoy splatterpunk and think it’s a great genre with lots of depth I do think it ha some tropes that are way too overdone/used for fetishistic reasons rather than to actually help tell the story and so much of it just falls into lol gore/murder/abuse.
