Breaking into #infosec isn’t easy. Most open jobs are mid-senior level, leaving entry-level roles highly competitive. If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out—I’m happy to help. I also encourage fellow professionals to give back by mentoring and guiding those starting out in our field!
So, let me get this straight: as #TikTok faces divestment over national security concerns, users are flocking to RedNote—a similar app that's also Chinese-owned?

hmmmmm

With a TikTok Ban Looming, Users Flee to Chinese App ‘Red Note’
Some say they joined Xiaohongshu, which translates to “little red book,” to spite the US government after a ban on TikTok became more likely.

Normally I’d provide commentary on a hack. In these instance I only have two things to say.

1. LMFAO
2. 800k really signed up for this shit?!

EXCLUSIVE: Hackers breach Andrew Tate's online university, leak data on 800,000 users

"Start your education with the soft skills. Understand the technology: how are these machines used in business? What are people doing with them? You can be as technical as anyone, but if you don't understand the application of what you're trying to do, you won't get far."

#miami is incredibly cold today, it's pandemonium outside, half the people are in shorts and a tshirt, and the other half are in jackets. Nobody knows what to do.

A world without passwords… now that’s a utopia!

At some stage there will be some advancements and passwords will become obsolete.

We will have new challenges to do with instead. No passwords though! Can’t wait to see the technologies that we bring to the future.

Not saying monopoly is good, but how would this even work in practice? Feels like a security and logistical nightmare lol. Just asking for trouble. Chrome. Breaking it up could make things worse, at least from security perspective. Guess that’s why the people solving it get paid the big $$$.
Breaking News: The Justice Department asked a federal court to force Google to sell Chrome, a move that could fundamentally alter the company’s business.
U.S. Plans to Propose Breakup of Google to Fix Search Monopoly
In a landmark antitrust case, the government asked a judge to force the company to sell its popular Chrome browser.

One of my favorite online tools is dnsdumpster.com. It's a simple way to start mapping out a domain’s digital footprint. From uncovering subdomains to visualizing DNS records, plus it's just fun to see what some companies are hosting. Great for #OSINT and #infosec in general!
DNSDumpster - Find & lookup dns records for recon & research
Free domain research tool to discover hosts related to a domain. Find visible hosts from the attackers perspective for Red and Blue Teams.

Was able to squeak into the 98th percentile in the NCL Cyberskyline Competiton cyberskyline.com

It was a super fun #infosec CTF style event and had lots of different topics spanning from OSINT to Web App Exploitation and everything between!

Mark my words, it’s already happening but #EntraID and SaaS Application hacks are going to rise. I’m talking things like setting up malicious Enterprise Apps in Azure & CAP bypass, etc.

These platforms are complex for internal teams to manage alone, and this is going to be abused heavily! #infosec

WIRED has tracked thousands of US military & intel personnel coming & going from classified sites, incl. NSA hubs & nuclear vaults. We know where they sleep, what they eat, and which brothels they visit.

It's an ocean of blackmail & national secrets within reach of every spy agency in the world.
Anyone Can Buy Data Tracking US Soldiers and Spies to Nuclear Vaults and Brothels in Germany
More than 3 billion phone coordinates collected by a US data broker expose the detailed movements of US military and intelligence workers in Germany—and the Pentagon is powerless to stop it.

“hacker” in other words a lawyer emailed the wrong person… this is just weird lol. A person named “Altam Beezley” downloaded the files but the lawyer received a bounceback.

Important information is missing here

Curiosity is key in #infosec. Those who, when they were young, tinkered with gadgets, pushed toys or tech to their limits, or explored breaking boundaries on computers often excel. That early drive to experiment and learn builds the foundation for a strong cybersecurity mindset.

Industry certifications in #infosec aren’t the ultimate goal—they’re tools. As someone who values mine, I know their worth lies in applying the knowledge practically. Without real skills to back them up, they’re just paper. In interviews, practical experience beats a list of certs every time.

Cybersecurity University Degrees are a trap preying on the buzz surrounding the industry and in general are not preparing students enough for successful #infosec careers. Especially for their cost.

Degrees are great, but for #cybersecurity and more broadly IT, additional self learning is required.

"How much security is enough?"

Just enough to enable the business to operate confidently and innovate safely. Too much can stifle progress; too little invites risk. As professionals, we often get lost in trying to make everything perfect, but the key is balancing security with business needs.
