Just wanted to share a very negative experience with paypal. They are absolutely incompetent, and in the era of virtual cards for online purchases, useless. I have canceled my paypal account and will never use them for the rest of my life. Used to be when I was overseas, they were great. Not so now.

I never thought I would say this but..Hooray for John Bolton. I have often dismissed inaccuracy as cowardice...cowards lie. But as inaccurate as Bolton can be..he is no coward. He is no liar. Still doesn't make him accurate.

And yes we all need to support those who refuse to repress others at risk of their jobs and their ability to protect and care for their families.
August 17, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I do not absolve us as Americans simply because we may not have voted for our government or because we may disagree with its repression. We are all responsible for what our government does. None of us can put it off on the unfortunate few who are ordered to carry out the acts. Yes they should refuse
August 17, 2025 at 4:20 PM
I would like to say that those of us who support our government's repressive tactics anti-American, but Manifest Destiny. From the beginning EU colonization of the Americas, expansionist wars..Spanish-American, Mexican-American, First Americans, America has repressed and stolen from others for gain

On this Dean Cain vs Leguizamo argument, I have great sympathy for those ICE and Guard members who are long time members being forced into undesirable roles. Conversely those joining now because they support the new repressive tactics are well Legiuzamo's right, "morons."

BTW a highly redacted version of that RISOP final report is online, if you are interested.

As a further disclosure about myself, for most of the 1970's is worked for the NSA as member of the USASA. During then I participated in the last RISOP exercise, that I know of. The flash point of this exercise for WW3 was a USA Russia tacnuck conflict in Iran.

2nd continuation vaccines: So RFK Jr. Regulating that all new vaccines undergo placebo controlled trials will impact only fast mutating viral vaccines. Think COVID. I bet he carves flu out of the requirement. This is totally political. No science here. Did he not say to follow the science? Not this!
May 2, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Continuing the vaccine post. To give a study patient placebo in place of known safe and effective therapy, already studied and approved earlier vaccine version, is unethical. Think trialing the 81mg aspirin dose versus the 325mg in action MI therapy. You want to be the one getting placebo, really?
May 2, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Concerning vaccines, let's be specific, all of our traditional vaccines, childhood vaccination for "lifetime" immunity underwent randomized double-blind placebo-controled trials. These include: MMR, DTaP, Hib, IPV. Newer versions such as ActHib are compared to the older version only and not placebo.

I was wondering if as Trump says, riots in Harlem, I'm guessing in the late 1960s, is cause now for witholding Federal funding from Harvard; maybe the Haight-Ashbury riots of that same era should be used to withhold Fed funding from UC Berkley?

Tariffs. Everyone is analyzing these incorrectly. Trumps Tariffs have nothing to do with trade deficits. Nothing at all. Think Russia losing a war to a smaller nation but that nation has the combined economic strength of the free democracies. How to diminish the western support??? Agent Trumpsky.

How does Zalensky in China on Monday to trade cutting USA off from Ukranian rare earth metals in exchange for weapons support? After all weapons can be had from everywhere, and rare earth metals are... well rare. And China needs a tarrif war bargaining chip.

Now with everyone allowed in, tagged and documented, any one without documentation is immediately guilty of illegal entry. So law enforcement NOT military, should have rights to stop and verify. Stop & verify is not the same as stop & search. If we use prints, facial & DNA at entry, verify is easy.

Children of naturalized parents lose their residency at 21yrs unless a member of uniformed service or enrolled in education. Otherwise their 5yr temp status begins with same restrictions. Everyone should be allowed to immigrate and pursue their dream. They should have 2 chances. And then gone.
January 24, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Likewise within the temp 5yr failure to pay taxes 3yrs of the 5 and no renewal. Failure to be employed 3yrs out of 5 = no renewal. But if employed and paying taxes 3yrs out of 5 allows submission for naturalization. Children of naturalized parents do not naturalize. Rather they are temp residents.
January 24, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Once in USA that temp 5yr authorization is void upon conviction of a capitol crime or felony = deportation. 2 deportations = no reentry. Third catch and do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go straight to jail, because illegal entry should be a crime punishable by jail.
January 24, 2025 at 2:40 PM
Now unrestricted immigration is not unregulated immigration. I think of it as catch, tag and release. Everyone entering should be registered at the border, face, prints, and DNA, given temp (5yr) documentation, and set loose to pursue life, liberty and happiness.
January 24, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Immigration policies are in the news, so here are my thoughts. Everyone from anywhere should be allowed to enter America. It is the restrictions we place on immigration that causes people to sneak in. It is the sneaking in that caused all the issues with immigration used to scare the electorate.
