I love movies, puns, and sexy books. she/her
Fire Island works as an adaptation, but also is so loving of Jane Austen and the romance genre. Joel Kim Booster CRAFTED that movie.

Hrmm, Only You and Leap Year would be a fun double feature. Both feature women on a single minded mission to the man they think they are meant to be with, if only this other man they just met would cooperate! This man they just met is both a hindrance and incredibly helpful. How dare. #romcombracket

Faith from Only You, a film very much about fate, almost marrying a podiatrist until she meets her shoe buyer soulmate is the kind of touch that makes me happy. She was tuned into the right frequency, just not the right person.

I'm good with either of these winning, love both.

The Sure Thing. For Rob, the chemistry, and the sweetest men bonding at a bar scene. They were so supportive, its nice.

Leap Year should be used for emergencies only. In cases of vast emptiness, inject Leap Year, the adrenalin shot to the heart of the most concentrated amounts of romcom tropes safeish for human consumption.

The Sure Thing was Rob Reiner wrapping a sweet romcom with John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga in the sexy bacon of fratboy humor. (I think he did this to sell the film and trick people into seats, because it was 1985.)

There are romcoms, romCOMS, ROMcoms, and ROMCOMs. Only You is a ROMCOM at every level, and a gorgeous one. Her dresses! Italy! Bonnie Hunt!

Watched Heart Eyes for Friday the 13th, great decision. Jordana Brewster and Devan Sawa as the dectectives?!! Incredible. Similar gore level to Freaky and the leads have good chemistry. Olivia Holt was also in Jingle Bell Heist and Totally Killer, she has fun taste.

I love Populaire, but Wrong Paris was like : Hey, do you want to have a fun sexy time that also is a lil bit weird in the best way? It feels like a movie TBS would play on a Friday night for their Dinner and a Movie program. Perfection. #romcombracket

New to me bracket watches: Jingle Bell Heist is freakin fun. A great time. A Nice Indian Boy is one of the best romcoms I've seen in years. Ridiculously good.

I'm still thinking about Mark Wahlberg wearing berets constantly in this movie. I kept wishing he would show up wearing a beret with a baguette on it. Or just a French flag. Go all in, give me COMMITMENT.
Say what you will about The Truth About Charlie, the Charade remake. It's disjointed, and feels very rushed. I would be interested in a podcast going into what happened there. But, Thandiwe is such a good pick in the Audrey Hepburn role. How she is in a cab with a stemmed glass of wine is hilarious.

#romcombracket If anyone has romance novel recommendations similar to How to Steal a Million, I would very much appreciate it.
