AI use in schools is growing rapidly – but policies aren’t keeping up. 🤖

Only 22% of primary and 32% of secondary teachers report having an AI policy.
Not all have read it, and some are unsure if one exists.

Yet 87% of teachers feel comfortable using AI for school work.

Teachers don’t just want “wellbeing” promises - they want real improvements.

30% protected PPA time, smaller classes, or free healthcare were each as appealing as a 10% pay rise 👀

Most schools encourage parents to join plays and celebrations – but do we make it easy for our own staff who are parents to do the same?

82% of teachers who asked were given paid time off, but teaching staff were four times more likely than senior leaders to have their requests refused (8% vs 2%).

📱 Mobile phone rules are tightening but teachers want them tighter.

Since 2018, Teacher Tapp has tracked school phone policies. The rules are shifting fast:
• Just 3% of secondary schools collected phones/pouches in 2018 - now it’s 18%.
• ‘Out of sight all day’ rules rose from 39% to 56%.
