Two players that improve Everton this window - Brennan Johnson and Connor Gallagher. Whether they would have considered Everton is anyone’s guess but it looks like both will go elsewhere. Same applied to McTomminay. The argument that players aren’t available in my opinion is mute.

For the remainder of the season I want to see more from the likes of Armstrong, Aznou and a couple of the lads from the Under 21s. We won’t learn anything from continuing with the likes of McNeill and Beto.

An observation from yesterday - small bowl of Scouse on the concourse - £12.50. Hasten to say there was plenty of it left. The Club and Amarak needs to have a serious look at its price point across food and drink.

After the casual nature of those penalties from Barry and Beto I can see the worm turning quite quickly if it hasn’t already. Onana was never the same after the penalty miss against Fulham. The attitude of both players speaks volumes when you can have the audacity to try one of those kicks.

Everton eliminated in the 3rd round of the League Cup and FA Cup. The argument might be that we don’t have the squad to try to compete in the premier league and progress in the domestic cup competitions. Season over for any chance of silverware again in January. Love to know what our goal is?

As much as Moyes has had little to choose from squad wise over the past few weeks his habit of early cup exits and capitulation has continued.

We are desperately short of players due to a thin squad, injuries and AFCON. What the last couple of performances have shown is that it does not detract from Moyes intransigence to make changes at key phases of the game. This is not a new thing, it was a trait during his previous tenure.

As a 15/16 year old I remember watching the original documentary in the early 90s. The ignorance and stigma back then played down by the hilarity of the situation. This film provides much needed broader context and social awareness. Uplifting and worth a watch.
