Today, I remembered that in the summer of 2023, I was watching the director's cut off Ebter The Void in my living room, and I had to keep pausing it over and over again because my dad kept walking into the room during the LOVE Hotel scene, and everybody was fucking. That was an experience.

I've been thinking about horror remakes lately, and it reminded me that I watched the 2013 Carrie before the 1976 De Palma classic. I don't know why I did that, but it slightly embarrasses me whenever I think about it.

I absolutely loved Anira. It's my third favorite of 2024, but I can truly see this movie becoming the American Beauty of today in that it'll still be considered great by some, but others will see it as poorly aged.

I predict that at some point in the future, maybe 10-15 years, Emilia Pérez will find some sort of weird (un)ironic following where people suddenly look back fondly on it ala Southland Tales.

I'm watching the SAG awards and I'm seriously wondering if all the presenters are on drugs. I know it the stiff teleprompter dialogue but everybody sounds out of it.

Something that sucks about the Karla Sofia Gascon controversy is that grifters will use this as an opportunity to try to prove their ill judgements about Trans people. She wrote bad things, not being she's trans but because of her own bigotry. Being Trans wouldn't dictate that.
