This should not be seen as a novel idea, we were lent or given almost all our baby equipment & then I passed ot on to others. But anything that promotes the idea that you don't have to pay thousands for baby gear is good!

I've been saying for several years that one reason we are seeing the collapse of the "protect and respect everyone" governments I largely grew up with, is because those who genuinely knew what a world war means are gone.

Somehow it seems that the need to be comprehensive and inclusive destroys the ability to actually make sense...you have to adopt my technique for dealing with the CSO: words of one syllable in big red crayon letters and, where possible, yes or no questions.

Interesting--we were required to do a first aid course in school when I was 12 or 13 (which admittedly was a LONG time ago) we had the sort of female "Resuci-Annie" dummy to practice mouth to mouth. I don't think we did CPR though

Had to explain to my son (ca 7) & a pal, saying in part, "sometimes a man falls in love with a man...." Unfortunately they got so giggly about the phrase "falls in love" that they didn't hear my carefully reasoned explanation of homosexuality & why it should be accepted!
