Before I developed schizophrenia, I was going to college to be a teacher. I never got to fulfill that dream…

Last week I was honored to share my story and as soon as the first patient round table was over, a patient came up and handed me this note without saying a word 🥹💚

In 2015 I stepped into a peer support group meeting as a recent diagnosed schizophrenia patient, and a struggling addict.

This weekend, I stepped onto a stage as a keynote speaker, author, 10 years sober, VP for NAMI Wi Board, and most importantly alive and looking forward to my future.
