Today may seem ordinary but, for me, it is unforgettable. It has been 25 years since I last saw this man. A soldier, a friend, a true gentleman and a real hero. A man I will never forget and am proud to call My Dad. #dads

Nijmegan bank robbery? And there was me thinking "Kelly's Heroes" was fictional!! Part of a document dealing with Discipline in 21 Army Group. Makes interesting reading. (WO 229/4). It appears that some of these crimes were actually carried out by Dutch civilians. Worthy of a bit more research.

Staff Sergeant Frederick Paice BEM. Serving with the RASC, he was awarded a BEM for his work as a short-hand notetaker, responsible for recording verbatim notes at a large number of court martial cases. Many reports we see today are thanks to the work of men & women like this. #MilitaryCrime

Mules proved far more resistant to disease, illness & poor animal management than horses during the #FirstWorldWar. Mortality in the field & during transportation was less than half that of horses & they could be kept in good condition on food rations 25% smaller #MuleMonday

Honoured to have taken part in the commemoration of 14 USAAF aircrew and 2 civilians who lost their lives on 26-08-1944 over the village of Weston, Hertfordshire, when two B-17's of 390th Bomb Group, collided. We were carried to the site by Don Searle in his 1942 Jeep "Brenda".
