Thousands came to the annual PRIDE Festival yesterday in Dixon Illinois. It was a joyous, uplifting event but one man had to bring his megaphone to to shame all who entered. Fortunately four local churches were represented inside the event to remind all that God is Love.

Yesterday the Lee County Democrats in red Illinois had a fundraising barbecue. For the first time since the election, life felt hopeful again. The weather was gorgeous. The crowd was optimistic and energized. A congressional candidate stopped by. We can do this. We will not let hate win.

Next Saturday, Congressman Sean Casten is coming to Dixon in the Illinois 16th. Our congressman, Darin LaHood, won’t hold a town hall for his constituents so we are excited that Rep Casten will meet with us over our country’s Constitutional crisis.

Just a wild guess but perhaps the average age at the protest in Sterling Illinois yesterday was 75 years old. Why? We can see clearly the train wreck our country has become. We have been the movement generation since we were 17 years old. We are the activist generation.
