Clear to see today how important both Salah and Van Dijk still are to Liverpool. Put our 30 somethings to shame really. Huge decision for Liverpool what to do with them. You get what you got today and the £500k per week investment is worth it, you get what KDB gave us today and they are fucked.

They looked like a team that are going to win the league. Took the chances they were presented with and made defending look easy against our pedestrian attack. Don’t think they are all that, but are taking advantage on an off year for us.

And the rest. Suspect we’ll need a GK too and deffo wide players with sufficient pace, quality and decision making. Doku twists and turns but 9 times out of 10 there is no end product. Be surprised if we get a CB, we now have 6 and see us struggling shipping any of older 4 this summer.

…never going to be “the man” and that is going to cost City £150m to replace KDB. Pep’s challenge to him has to be the prove we don’t have to spend that money over the remainder of the season. His attitude and application needs to be so much better.

Revisionist to think that Foden was stepping out the shadows last season. He was largely anonymous for first half of the season. De Bruyne came back and he then didn’t have to carry the load on his back and he was brilliant. Pretty much exactly the same story this season. He’s looking like he’s….

Just watching Bayern’s energy without the ball further highlights how far off it in that department City are. In last 5 minutes both Olise and Sane have recovered the ball in the their own half when team under a bit of pressure.

Having Haaland for the next 6/7 years is very exciting. The thought of the 3/4 years after that not so much particularly on the wedge he’ll be on.

On another day City will have been beaten today, it was like they were playing themselves, a team not clinical enough and conceding the oppositions first chance. Take the win and move on, but everything is still a massive struggle.

The best young players have been sold, the ones left aren’t good enough or trusted so we’re left with an ageing side. Huge two windows for Viana (they need him in now!) with all those you listed required. Fortunately given recent windows we’ve got a big budget we can spend - we’ll need every penny!!

They rode the wave with this group of players, and probably rightly so, given its recent success. However, they’ve collectively lost half a yard whether it be through age or appetite and that inactivity over the last 4/5 windows to not really upset the apple cart is biting them in the arse.

Current? I.e. only players that are available? If so, in that case it’s Ederson and 10 Liverpool players. Maybe stick Haaland upfront.
