concrete example of how these issues impact people at all stages in academia! My PhD advisee @sarcler.bsky.social began doc studies w/me in 2020 & is now looking for a postdoc. Just today she expressed concerns about funding for postdocs. She was awarded NSF GRFP to complete her PhD studies. 😔

I started my PhD in the beginning of the COVID era and it was rough having to start this program virtually. I am now in my last semester, dealing with the gruesome job market, which has become even harder because funding opportunities are being taken away or put on pause left and right 😟.
