My biggest takeaway from this course was recognizing that communication is a careful, context-driven process that theory can explain and plan. #UTcommtheory

Cognitive Dissonance Theory is memorable because it describes the discomfort we experience when our ideas and behaviors don't align and how that conflict drives us to defend or modify our attitudes. #UTcommtheory

AI has positively impacted your educational experience by helping me with grammar checks. Putting my papers or discussions into AI to make sure everything is spelled correctly, or that I used the right punctuation, has helped me a lot. #UTcommtheory

During class presentations, I have used assertive assimilation. I practiced my speech, properly organized my slides, and planned any questions the teacher or other students might have before my presentation. #UTcommtheory

I respond best to the participation approach. I like this approach because it gives everyone a chance to voice their opinions and contribute to the process, which produces better and equal results. #UTcommtheory

I agree with the Media Multiplexity Theory. I text, call, or FaceTime people that I am close to, even if they don't live near me. #UTcommtheory

Family vloggers have been huge lately. Some people don't think parents should post their children online, and I completely agree! Some parents share things that shouldn't be shared, and the kids don't know. #UTcommtheory

My favorite show is Pretty Little Liars, and one of the main couples is Aria and Ezra, and they show stability vs change. They want a future together, but Ezra is Aria's teacher, so there is always change, which is either their secret getting out or not having approval from her family. #UTcommtheory

When I started my job, I wasn't sure how my co-workers were going to be, but some of them actually ended up being my best friends! That is an example of axiom #1! #UTcommtheory

My coworker was brand new, and she just started trauma dumping about her ex-husband's death, and everyone at work didn't know what to say because it was her first week. She was sharing very personal things that probably didn't need to be shared. #UTcommtheory

I grew up in a pluralistic family. We didn't have many rules at all growing up, my parents trusted my siblings and me, but we always made big decisions together as a family. #UTcommtheory

I found the semiotic tradition the most appealing because it examines the ways in which signs and symbols are used to create meaning, showing hidden cultural norms and a variety of interpretations.

I think Explanation of the Data is the most important because a good theory should explain why something occurs rather than simply predict results. #UTcommtheory

I am more drawn to the interpretive approach because I think it's important to examine how people interpret their own experiences. It makes it possible to see human interaction on a deeper level. #UTcommtheory

My favorite theory is the Cognitive Dissonance Theory. It describes people's psychological discomfort when their beliefs and actions don't align. This theory fits Burgoon's definition since it is a research since it is a researched concept that aims to comprehend human needs. #UTcommtheory
