Almost every line of this story would have been simply unbelievable a few months ago:

—Pioneering cancer researcher;
—*Arrested* at airport in Boston;
—Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana;
—"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research.

Read it.

New images could change cancer diagnostics, but ICE detained the Harvard scientist who analyzes them
Without scientist Kseniia Petrova’s expertise, no one can fully unlock the data’s potential, putting crucial advancements in early cancer detection at risk.

It's never about the science. It's always about having a legal basis for your fear and hatred of other people.
My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...
Sex Redefined: The Idea of 2 Sexes Is Overly Simplistic
Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

On Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate Minnesota’s transgender community and recommit to standing up for our neighbors in the face of hatred.

As your Governor, I’m proud to stand in this fight with you.

Exploding deer numbers in Britain aren't just destroying forests, but even wetlands and other natural habitats.

People love bambi, but need to start realising the damage far too many deer do to nature by stripping away native vegetation.

Great.

NOW might Germany begin to actually join the dots, and see that actively supporting Israel's genocide in Gaza positions it in the very same camp as Elon and Trump?

A place it *really* ought to try to avoid, given its history of inflicting genocide?

I was at my first protest today to stand up against the Dutch government plans to cut funding for education and spend it on defense. But actually, education prevents wars and is highly needed with the rise of fascism. Education is a necessity and it's dangerous to refund it.
