I love my Island of Strangers. Strangers care for my mother. Strangers taught my children. Strangers cured my cancer. A Stranger shares my bed. Strangers show me a better world. Because of them, our lives are richer and more vivid. What kind of impoverished and tiny spirit wants to keep them out?

Good luck! How wonderful to be living in beautiful Orkney!

Good to hear. Let me know if you fancy a chat sometime

I don't know, but possibly a keyhole cover to be attached to an escutcheon (keyhole surround plate)?

Thanks for this. Important and inspiring

Thank you, Muriel!

Had the most thrilling encounter yesterday. I spent 40 minutes following this otter up and down the river in Wyndham park, Grantham

All the best, Ulla. We are all poorer for Phil's death. And it's hard when people are mourning the loss of public figures, and forgetting that your life is changed forever by a personal one, x

Gosh. Hadn't thought this. I like them - creative and funny, though the pollution aspect is something to think about. Also, I'm disturbed that some of the responses seem to be saying that the expressions of middle class women of a certain age are not as authentic or valid as urban youth.

I am so sorry, Laura, x

I often think about this photo

Yes! It's really thoughtful and original stuff. His PhD will be very interesting

Very proud of my PhD student @jrosantos.bsky.social who has published a brilliant paper on the archaeology of loneliness in the Journal of Social Archaeology. All the lonely people: where do they all come from? journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

I would be up for that!

Ooooh. I did a read-along in real time a few years ago. Great fun and seasonal. Anyone fancy that?

Oh dear. I've been googling my symptoms, and I've got that

It's passed!

YES! I bought a slanket ( electric blanket with sleeves) last year, and it is life-changing. But never let any potential or actual romantic partner see you in it

This morning 's rally in support of assisted dying. I got interviewed by the BBC, so should be on the 1 o'clock news. Now just defrosting my feet and waiting for the result of the vote

Just been interviewed. Might be on the BBC 1 o'clock news...

On my way to London to demonstrate in favour of the Assisted Dying bill. Hope the pretty sky is a good omen

Yes, absolutely
