We welcome the Government's commitment to early years & its emphasis on boosting access and investing in the workforce to drive quality. We look forward to working in partnership with @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social, @stephenmorganmp.bsky.social & the wider early years system to deliver on this ambition.

Reform is slow and unsexy, but it is necessary.

One of the most irresponsible acts of the last Gov was normalising big bang policy fixes (expanding 'free' childcare with no plan) & gimmicks (Rwanda)

Labour must make more of its rejection of that approach to governing if its to manage expectations.

Today is Equal Pay Day 2024—the point when women, on average, stop earning compared to men and work the rest of the year unpaid.

This year, it’s two days earlier than 2023, signalling a widening pay gap.

Let’s act to close it. 💼

Some of the most vulnerable children in society living in Victorian conditions, and worse still, no one knows how many. Laws to end illegal providers from profiteering off children's trauma can't come soon enough.

Women in the UK do 50% more unpaid care work than men.
This imbalance impacts women’s ability to participate in paid work, with many working part-time or dropping out of the workforce altogether.

It’s time to value this invisible labour and create policies that support gender equality. 💪💼

Crucial that sectors like early years (a public service mainly delivered by private sector) is not seen as just another business. Rising NICs increases fees for parents restricting their ability to work, stops providers hiring more staff to meet demand and 1/
