Exciting News! 🎉 I am proud that the Safe Green Schools resolution I helped champion was passed by the Columbus City School Board at our February 4th meeting. The resolution commits to carbon neutrality by 2050, which puts us in alignment with our regional governmental partners.

Madeline’s Law would require insurers to cover hearing aids for kids. We passed it in the House with an overwhelming bipartisan vote and Governor DeWine has pledged to sign it. It’s time for the Senate to concur and let Ohio’s children hear.
🚨 My children’s hearing aids bill Madeline’s Law is now up for a final concurrence vote in the Senate next week. Last step before we send this bill to the Governor, who has promised to sign it!

Voting while unhoused is rife with challenges, from ID requirements to systemic barriers tied to lacking a fixed address. LA County's pop-up Flex Vote Centers, located at shelters and service sites, are aiming to ease the burden:

Nationwide, unhoused people have some of the lowest turnout among all voters. Los Angeles County is trying to change this with flexible polling centers that meet people where they are.

Something you may not know about me is that I love a good documentary. I just watched “The Remarkable Life of Ibelin” on Netflix. I can’t say enough about the production and storytelling of this young man’s life and online community. It was honest, raw and entertaining all at once. Highly recommend.

Ohio's Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, goes all-in on axing the U.S. Dept. of Education. Closing it would rip away $18 billion per year from high-poverty schools, $15 billion from special education, $28 billion from Pell Grants to help high-performing kids in poverty go to college.
