I raised my concerns about the decision to move the ticket office at Waverley Station to a less accessible location. Accessible and in-person support must be protected, not everyone can rely on digital services.

ICYMI: Marionville fire station is a critical part of the local community, and its closure would be devastating for our city. If you feel passionately about it reopening, please fill in the consultation below:

Emotional & distressing to hear from James Elder from @Unicef about the vital work they are doing to support people in Gaza. 17,000 children have been killed and 34,000 injured in the past two years.

Every single donation helps address this humanitarian crisis— please consider donating.

Great to attend the unveiling of the bronze bust of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, the first non-European to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, crafted by legendary Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar. A super cultural event alongside my colleagues Dr. Scott Arthur MP & Foysol Choudhury MSP.

Great to be at the 78th Edinburgh International Film Festival Launch. The event began at the Cameo Cinema & finished at the Summerhall Gallery. Scotland’s film sector is a vibrant pillar of our city’s culture. Check out the fantastic range of films you can see at www.edfilmfest.org

Marionville Fire Station is a lifeline for the east of Edinburgh, yet it’s under immense threat. I am standing with Chris Murray MP and Cllr Joan Griffiths to oppose its closure.

Sign the petition below to stop this vital station from being permanently shut down.

It was a pleasure to visit Right There in Pilton and see how their emergency accommodation, one-to one mentoring and long-term support are helping people across Lothian move off the streets, build skills and find secure homes.

Please take a further look into their work at rightthere.org 💛

At FMQs today I challenged the FM about the proposed closure of Marionville Station - it provides vital services in the heart of our capital city at a time when our fire services are under increasing pressure.

we need more firefighters not cuts

I pressed the Scottish Government what they more will do to assist councils in developing not for profit heat networks. We also need regional networks so that councils can work together to maximise the benefits of heat & power across Scotland

To create well-paid renewables jobs, we need more investment to support supply chains and manufacturing now. Instead, the Scottish Government have kicked the can down the road until after the Scottish Parliament election.

Great to meet with some American exchange students from the International Educational Exchange, in Holyrood to discuss Scottish politics and Scottish Labour. Was great to hear such engaged questions and have such an in-depth discussion.

I had an amazing time being shown around the King’s Theatre to see the fantastic work the team are undertaking. They have ambitious plans to upgrade the facility while keeping it authentic to the original design.

Great to catch up with the Fire Brigade Union in support of their campaign to deliver a full 52-week maternity pay for fire fighters. It is critical that our fire fighters get adequate working conditions to help increase retention and quality of life.

It is clear the SNP dropped their 20% reduction in car usage target because they were going to miss it. We need leadership with a plan, that provides affordable, accessible & reliable public transport & safer streets.

The EIJB has made draconian cuts to charities due to the Scottish Government’s underfunding. Edinburgh Council has stepped in but I asked Shona Robinson if she is aware just how bad the situation is getting here in Edinburgh for charities supporting people’s health and wellbeing

We have seen an increase in the number of under 22s using buses but in committee, I asked what steps we are taking to ensure those habits endure after their bus pass expires. It is critical that we ensure young people continue to be able to have access to reliable, affordable public transport.

Great to join the Presiding Officer at the Mayfield and Easthouses Development Trust, on her final visit to mark the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament.
