Today we celebrate the birthday of Queen Lili‘uokalani — Hawai‘i’s only reigning queen and its last sovereign, born September 2, 1838. She was gifted these Boston and Sandwich Glass Company candlesticks in 1887. Ninety years later they came back to Sandwich and are on view in the museum.
