What a surprising turn of events! 😳
Glad for the team! Yet I wonder how this turns out in the long term.
I am delighted to announce that @vercel.com are investing in Nuxt!

they are backing our vision of the open web, hiring me as well as other core team members (@atinux.com, @pi0.io + @antfu.me), to continue to work full time on Nuxt

we remain independent — and our vision and ethos are not changing 💚

My new side project is live - @legacy-modernization.io

I curated my knowledge of legacy modernization patterns into a website.

I still have lots of content to add but the current version is hopefully a bit useful

“Success is a matter of community”

Robb absolutely nailed it with this one. Brings me hope that we can continue to carve out spaces for ourselves where the craft and the ethics do matter. It has happened before, and it will happen again, and we will still be here.
Back when I was finding my feet in tech everybody was buzzing about building positive change. Somewhere along the way, something changed. Fortunately for us though, tech is not the first industry forced to defend itself against dubious practices.

What might we learn if we were to look elsewhere?
Looking elsewhere - Robb Owen
Against the backdrop of mass layoffs, LLMs, site-builders and vibe coding what does it mean to conscientiously build for the web, and where do we go from here?

I have feelings about AI & the web & my experience being trans "in tech" in 2025 - so I screamed some thoughts onto my personal web log.

I hope for all of us a more queer & humane future. Keep building communities & dreaming better paths.

It's common for legacy code to have deeply nested statements

They make code harder to read/think about (cognitive overload) 😵‍💫

Did you know "Guard Clauses" can help you simplify these? The key is to return early on exceptions, unnest the happy path 💂

Here's an example in JavaScript 👇
