I water frequently in the winter months. The sun isn't out as long, but the air is dry outside and indoor heating desiccates the plants even more.
Good thing I work from home during winter, otherwise I don't think they'd survive without constant care

Dead trees are worth so much. They become shelters and feeding hubs for animals and fungi. They act as nurse logs by becoming a bed of nutrients to feed the next generation as it decays.
