On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

So, now Trump is boycotting the fucking G20 summit because of his bullshit 'white genocide' conspiracy?

Well, talk about secondhand embarrassment. Let me just remind you of his last meeting with South Africa's President...

I'm sure the anti-apartheid activist who was arrested several times was receptive to his bullshit arguments.

Trump's horrible policies are screwing Americans over.

Between tariffs, SNAP cuts and the rising cost of living, food deserts continue to expand. Low-income Americans are getting the short end of the sharpened stick.

Watching the election map light up blue and just beaming. I'm gonna sleep like a baby for the first time in months, let's fucking GO!

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

What's that? They don't want people to see them tearing down the historic East Wing of the White House to put in a tacky ass ballroom?

Too bad. Look at what your tax dollars are doing, U.S. citizens!

That's YOUR fucking house he's ripping down!
The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.

I am officially married, content, and enjoying the tail end of a short honeymoon in a tiny seaside town.

My spouse and I are sitting cozy by the hotel fire, spoiling the friendly lobby dog with belly rubs and ear scratches, and trying every cocktail we can.

I couldn't be happier!

As long as the basic necessities of survival are locked behind a paywall, we are not truly free.

As long as this remains the case, our society has decided that the poor do not deserve to live.

Today is a day of remembrance. Today, Canadians remember the victims and survivors of our country's genocide against First Nations people.

This is not ancient history. We must never let this happen again.

It almost but not quite goes without saying:

The Trump-Hegseth memory of American history treats the Civil War as having two sides of Americans, both of whom deserve to be honored as heroes. It treats the wars between the Union army and Indian nations entirely differently.

Sickening behavior by this agent. The fact that Mayor Adams has rolled out the red carpet for ICE is a stain on our city.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

Oh my goodness. This is fantastic news, if it's true!
HELLS YES
This is huge: “A drug that provides near-perfect protection against H.I.V. with shots just twice a year will be made available at $40 per patient annually in low- and middle-income countries, offering new hope… making lenacapavir a realistic choice in countries with constrained resources.”

Sentator Padilla was the one who was bodily shoved to the floor and detained by federal agents for interrupting Christy Noem's press conference to ask a very reasonable question about ICE's abuse of power.

The Vice President got his name wrong when talking about the incident. 'Cause racism.
Sen. Alex Padilla: "This isn't about one comedian or one television personality or any one network. It's about whether we as Americans still have the freedom to laugh at those in power, to question authority, and to tell the truth without fear of retribution."

I finally managed to pick up a part-time job, and I am beyond relieved. The search for work has been seriously brutal, and since I lost a major source of income this year, it's been wicked stressful.

But, just in time for pumpkin spice season and changing leaves - and my wedding - I got work.
September 7, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Seriously, who finds this surprising?
September 6, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Well, red hats, get on out there! Better hurry, there's all that good honest money waiting to be earned in the harvest.

'Tis the season to put your money where your mouth is and pick up where they left off.

It's hard work, but it's good work, right?
Where are the red Make America Great Again hats out in the fields? You know, the same people who swore immigrants were “taking their jobs.”

Keep snatching hard-working folks who are just trying to support their families and don’t be shocked when this becomes the new norm.
