Folks, I think I may have found the sign that will unite the generations and bring meme harmony to the world.

Jubilee Line delayed owing to "animals on the line". Where's Jack Straw when you need him?

I've arrived at my destination but I can't get out the car as they're playing Will Powers 'Kissing With Confidence and I have to wait until it's finished. Obviously.

Vivaldi's 'Winter' is playing and I'm triggered into panic-buying a sofa as the sale MUST END soon.

Not saying it's been a long time since I took this bus but I nearly asked for a half fare...

Cracking piece of BBC archive here. The Forty Minutes strand was usually good; this one I found particularly fascinating as it's filmed around Newcastle. I was about 4 when most of this happened and it's astonishing what has and also what hasn't changed. youtu.be/VwNWUNykqAs?...

I do like it when the train says "The next stop will be... Ely! Exit for... Ely Cathedral!" Feels like a lesson learned, perhaps from Leeds and castles.

Wikipedia says the film "Chariots Of Fire" has a running time of 124 minutes. They must have been exhausted by the end of that.

I feel like it's a particularly strong Decade Dip this week, hence this last minute invitation to join me! camfm.co.uk/player (or you can still find it after the fact, technology is good like that).

I am finally after many years starting to use Discogs properly. Let's connect! Add me samholloway or let me know your user name. (This post feels like a weird hybrid of Discogs, BlueSky and LinkedIn.)

Hello! I really should post more often, especially to remind you that The Sam Holloway Show is live from 7-8pm BST at camfm.co.uk/player. Don't worry, you don't need to be age-verified or anything!

I still have a spare seat for Sparks at the Hammersmith Apollo tonight - shout if you'd like to come with me!

Brian Wilson and Sly Stone in the same week, wow. That's an incredible chunk of influence for music of the last sixty years, and undoubtedly, the next sixty to come. RIP

Today's realisation: in Darryl Hall & John Oates's "Out of Touch", the backing vocals sing "Time" but not "Touch". Hall & Oates of course the Adobe Photoshop of giving your full name.

I have a spare ticket to see Sparks in London, Wed Jun 18th - would rather take someone with me than sell to a stranger so let me know if you're interested!

A very enjoyable set from Camera Obscura at the Union Chapel this evening. Great to see them playing a full range of their material.

The funny thing about (University of) Cambridge traditions is that many of them are not that old. There are examples of things people assume go back a long way but didn't exist when I was a student. I guess that's a side effect of placing ritual within a traditionally historic setting. Quite fun!

Off for a random day in London and a little train geek bonus - one of the newly refurbished Great Northern 379s running from Ely. Definitely a notch up in comfort from the usual stock, much appreciated!

Looks like I'll be pottering around London tomorrow (Tues 27th) afternoon - shout if you fancy meeting up for coffee, cake, art or similar!

Trying to listen to the Championship playoff on TalkSport. I say trying because they've got the crowd noise so high in the mix, it's almost impossible to hear the commentary.

Into a busy May & June of gigs - tonight at the Union Chapel to see Shack! Missed Michael Head solo last year so will be good to finally catch them.

Always nice to pop in to Rob's Records in Nottingham. Not only is there always something fun to find, but the shop makes me realise that my own record storage system isn't really that bad.

I do like that the BBC snooker coverage has retained the original theme (there was a remixed version for a while but they seem to have abandoned that). Not many of those original themes still going now!
