Happy New Year’s Eve. I hope everyone is warm and surrounded by love. Marietta Bike Social is meeting this Saturday to ride around downtown Marietta.

I’m deeply grateful for the people who keep showing up for one another. Heading into 2026, I’m excited to keep building a more connected Marietta.

Sat down with Ruwa to talk affordability, working people, and why Georgia deserves leadership that isn’t owned by billionaires.

If you’re tired of big money calling the shots, donate to Ruwa’s campaign & help us build something.

“I’m a homeowner. Why should I care that rent is expensive?”

Heard this a lot on the campaign trail. Rent isn’t just about apartments. It affects small businesses too. When commercial rents rise, shops close, jobs disappear, & our economy weakens. We want Marietta to stay strong & work for families

Chilly weather feels amazing when you’re biking 🚲New record this week with 19 riders.

Join Marietta Bike Social every Saturday at 10AM outside Marietta Food Hall. We ride about five miles in one hour at a pace that works for everyone.

This is a family friendly ride and kids love it.

NO HANDOUTS TO BILLIONAIRES!
Join me tonight @ 7 PM to speak up on Franklin Road.

We spent $68M, then leased 33-acres to Arthur Blank for $1. Now Marietta wants to buy back 34-acres for another soccer field.

Residents deserve to have real input on developments!

Did you know cities could limit short-term rentals to owner-occupied homes? Renting out a room in your own house would still be fine, but this would stop investors & corporations from buying whole houses just to Airbnb them. Anything is possible when we demand cities that we can afford to live in.

“I think a lot of people suffer from a lack of imagination in office. When you have an imagination, it attracts voters in a way that will make them come out and vote for you.”

Great interview with Greg Bluestein!

He came close to making history in Marietta mayor’s race. He may run again.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, however you chose to spend it. And no matter the reason you’re out for a walk after a big meal, you should be able to do it safely.

We just need sidewalks in Marietta that don’t suddenly end so everyone is safe. www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/202...

When I was knocking doors to talk about investing in our communities, someone asked “why should I subsidize someone else’s bad decisions?”

We all love the restaurants & businesses on Marietta Square. If workers can’t afford parking or lose hours when their car is in the shop, that hurts everyone.

Unpopular opinion: you don’t need a perfect resume to run for office. Don’t assume you’re less qualified than the person sitting there now. If you understand the struggles of working families, rent, wages, childcare, and transportation, you already grasp more than a lot of people in power.

Development is a big win for the economy when we plan for the people who make it run. Real Talk: who will work there, what will they earn, and can they get to work without long commutes?

When workers can get to their jobs easily, we have less traffic and a stronger local economy.

If anyone is hiring full-time in the Marietta or Cobb area, my events manager is looking. He was an asset to my campaign and handled logistics, volunteers, and large community events with calm and professionalism.

If you hear of anything, please send me info.

We’ll be hosting a free bicycle maintenance workshop soon that’s completely free. DM if you’d like to volunteer.

Marietta Bike Social: We ride every Saturday at 10AM, rain or shine, outside Marietta Square Market. Bring that fussy baby and let the sunshine and fresh air lull them into a good nap.

Reminder: You’ll see people in nice cars at food assistance events. That doesn’t mean they’re doing fine. Jobs can disappear fast. Hours get cut. Families get stuck with large bills.

That’s why better transit and real support matter. And it’s why food assistance and mutual aid are so important.

While canvassing, I chatted with mom who works three jobs and still sells plasma to make ends meet. She has a master’s degree. She works in STEM. She has a “good” job on paper. And she’s still struggling.

Too many Marietta families are doing everything right and still can’t get ahead.

Fun fact: Your favorite mayoral candidate isn’t even eligible to serve on the Boards and Commissions in Marietta. You have to be at least 25 years old to serve.

Maybe it’s time we change that.
Please run for municipal seats. Mayor. City Council. School Board. We need people who care.

And if running isn’t your thing, volunteer on our Boards and Commissions. If you’re passionate about affordable housing, apply for the Marietta Housing Authority.
