Update: Downing Street has reportedly said today that there will be 'no additional funding for pay if recommended awards exceed what departments can afford'
The School Teachers’ Review Body has recommended a pay rise of 'close to 4 per cent', according to reports, potentially setting government on a fresh collision course with unions

School support staff offered 3.2% pay rise
But unfunded rise will place further pressure on school budgets

A wonderful term of ambition & growth, with a sprinkle of challenge and a few hurdles thrown in. But we finish strong, together and united. I am privileged to lead a human centred team who care deeply and are committed to helping our students to thrive.

Now we rest and recharge before we go again.

"Deep anger" doesn't go far enough. Our childrens education is seemingly not important at all.
No extra funding for schools was announced in today’s spring statement, frustrating union bosses and prompting warnings of 'deep anger among education staff'
Union anger as spring statement snubs schools
Reeves mentioned crumbling school roofs, but they won't get more capital cash next year

Powerful and thought provoking words that will challenge all leaders to reflect. The call to ensure we can still impact in 5 to 10 years has got me thinking. Thank you @sineadmc.bsky.social
#ASCL2025 - @sineadmc.bsky.social talks about organisational culture and #wellbeing: appreciation counts for a lot, #inclusion, representation, CPD matters along with opportunities for everyone to connect with their sense of purpose.

Lots of words this morning and calls for us as school leaders to work hard and graft....but very little on the help we will get. More than just words are needed. #frustrated #ascl2025

Absolute disaster....
Exclusive: School bosses have spoken of their surprise that their budgets will rise by about 0.5 per cent per pupil next year, with some saying they will lose money
School budgets much worse than we thought, say leaders
Need to cover the rest of this year's pay rise means £1.3m autumn budget cash won't cover cost rises
