Slowly. Tempered as the crawling rot of autumn, the fine frost of gilded winter. Patient as all Lida’s moons—not a step out of pace in the grand unfolding across the night sky. Kye tapped the rhythm in gentle waves, infrequent as her own heartbeat pinned between worlds. Ripples against the shoreline of death.

There's no shame in being a writer who isn't a big reader. From 2021 until now, my writing has grown and improved despite not reading often. In the end, do what works for you. There are plenty of ways to grow as a writer. Reading is just one way.

a reminder that sometimes all you need to fall back in love with a WIP is literally just to read it again. get it in a place that isn’t your word doc, format it like a finished book, put it on an e-reader or use text-to-speech, etc. it always gets me excited to write again
