No matter what happens, run your race. It's tempting to look around and compare yourself to all the other racers. To measure yourself according to what they're doing. To start running against others. But the only race that matters is your race. Your only competitor is yourself.

Advice I’d give my 25-year-old self: You’re not tired from doing too much. You’re tired from doing too little of what matters. You’re tired because you’re bored, not because you’re busy. Solve interesting puzzles. Unlock your quest. You’ll never think about energy again.

The most attractive trait in the world is energy. Walk into every room with genuine curiosity, enthusiasm, and interest. You become a magnet for the highest quality people. Energy is contagious. Spread the kind you'd want to catch.

I often wonder how many people waste their entire lives fearing the judgement of people who were never even thinking about them. Nobody is thinking about you. Nobody cares. Everybody is too busy thinking about themselves. That thing you’ve always wanted to do? Just go do it.

A lot of people don't want to hear this, but waking up early is really the ultimate life cheat code.

I’m much happier getting into bed and watching a movie at 7pm on a Friday than I ever was going out to a crowded bar.

Someone told me they don’t play with their kids because they don’t find it fun or fulfilling. We’ve completely lost the plot. Something doesn’t have to be fun or fulfilling for it to be important to do. Parenting is an act of service. It’s not about you. Play with your kids.

The people who tell you to be realistic are usually just projecting their own ceiling on you. Your growth exposes their insecurity. Never adopt limits you didn’t choose for yourself.

A lot of problems are solved by having higher standards. Low standards make everything feel optional. You let things slide. You accept less than you're worth. You allow your goals to fade. Raise the bar higher than what feels comfortable. Your standards decide your future.

The best advice I got in my 20s: When you feel stuck, shrink the time horizon. Don't ask what the year needs. Ask what today needs. One finished task. One workout. One closed loop. One hard conversation. Momentum is a byproduct of movement. Remember that.

Advice for my 20-year-old self: Life is full of problems. Wisdom is realizing you don't have to solve every single problem that comes your way. It's focusing your energy on the problems that are actually worth solving.

I fell in love with my wife all over again when I got to see her as a mother. It’s hard to explain. It was an entirely different kind of love than our early years. Deeper. More visceral. Real. I now believe that the greatest gift I can give our son is the love I give his mother.

The older I get, the more I value simplicity. Because complexity is the enemy of consistency. If it’s too complicated, you won’t stick to it long enough for compounding to work its magic. The simple plan is always seen through. Simplicity is your cheat code for compounding.

Underrated life advice: Don’t dig the well when you’re thirsty. Prepare before you need it. Build the safety net before the downturn. Form your habits before they'll be tested. Create trust before the time of need. Prepare when it's unnecessary if you want to thrive when it is.

An idea I can't stop thinking about...

The older I get, the more I realize reliability is the key to life. You’ll achieve much more by being consistently reliable than by being occasionally extraordinary. Show up, do the work, repeat. The recipe for success in any area of life.

I’m increasingly convinced that brutal self-honesty is the real life cheat code. You can’t improve your life until you become painfully aware of the gap between what you want and what you’re doing to create it. Hold your feet to the fire. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

If you feel stuck, add structure to your days. Map out what you’re going to do for an entire day in 30 minute increments. It doesn’t have to be the “right” stuff. It just needs to be something. Then stick to it for a full day. You’ll feel in control and create momentum. It works.

The ultimate life hack: Quiet progress. No announcement. No hype. No applause. Learn to work without validation. Build when nobody’s watching. Write when nobody’s reading. Train when nobody’s cheering. It doesn’t take talent, just courage. Quiet progress creates loud results.

I want to live a “boring” life. Wake up early. Move my body. Eat real foods. Avoid drama. Focus. Think. Love. The boring is beautiful.
