I keep noticing the same pattern in two very different spaces—unquestioning loyalty. Whether it’s people insisting Israel and Netanyahu can do no wrong, or people insisting Donald Trump and Republicans can do no wrong, the refusal to hold power accountable leads to real harm and deadly consequences.

Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is pure projection. It’s a slogan used to shut down criticism, while the real derangement shows up as blind loyalty, rejection of facts, and devotion to one man over democracy.

Today’s mail included a packet from Ruth Johnson promoting the “Citizen Only Voting Amendment,” complete with a petition to circulate.
Michigan already detects non-citizen voting. Mailing petitions to voter lists feels less like election security and more like political desperation.

The blind loyalty some folks show to their political party or government, foreign or domestic, is shocking. If you excuse harm just because “your people” did it, you’re part of the problem. If you can’t hold your own accountable, you have absolutely no business judging anyone else.
