It’s cop-speak, I work adjacent to law enforcement and see it all the time.

Ignoring the absurdity of the exercise, how do they get to Robert E. Lee from Fitz Lee?

Half surprised the filing wasn’t rejected considering the size of the brief. This brief would violate the local rules in my district

Barely anything based on the affiant’s personal knowledge, pretty weak.

Who is the audience for an 18-minute video dissent? At least keep it under five minutes

district courts shouldn’t engage in fact finding? That’s their argument??

Judge who served on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court can’t be trusted with secrets. Lmao

Prosecutors use this logic all the time (e.g., DNA evidence proves you were there but lack of DNA evidence isn't probative b/c of X, Y, and Z.) Heads, I win, tails, I win too. Drives me nuts sometimes.

i agree, as a legitimately rich billionaire, he's useful for now. but the spigot appears to be flowing for Trump now again: legal settlement payoffs, the meme coins, and probably a half dozen other fundraising projects in the works.

The catalyst event will be when Trump inevitably turns on him and kicks him out
January 31, 2025 at 4:40 PM
he already backed away from imposing tariffs on day 1, but even then 10-15% seems low imo
January 22, 2025 at 12:47 AM
He might not have the votes. There was genuine support for getting rid of TikTok. Whatever this is may have much less support

It really makes me question the natsec justification. Everyone’s seemingly okay with letting it run now.

Also now somewhat overshadowed!

I'm not a NY crim expert, but I saw an article asserting that under NY law the judge should be able to sentence him in abstentia. I agree, given his position, he should just not attend.
