Prosecutors use this logic all the time (e.g., DNA evidence proves you were there but lack of DNA evidence isn't probative b/c of X, Y, and Z.) Heads, I win, tails, I win too. Drives me nuts sometimes.

I don’t handle judicial complaints as a matter of practice, but the letter seems pretty weak. The judge’s behavior was sharp, but that’s not at all atypical for federal court.

i agree, as a legitimately rich billionaire, he's useful for now. but the spigot appears to be flowing for Trump now again: legal settlement payoffs, the meme coins, and probably a half dozen other fundraising projects in the works.

I lean toward using it as a noun. In fact, I can't recall seeing it used as a verb in legal writing.

I'm not a NY crim expert, but I saw an article asserting that under NY law the judge should be able to sentence him in abstentia. I agree, given his position, he should just not attend.
