It’s disconcerting to find yourself constantly on the opposite side of the people you were supposed to be ideologically aligned with. It would have made more sense if I felt I had switched teams — become a right winger or a conservative, but I haven’t.

One of the biggest indicators of lack of prejudice is whether you will marry your kid into another community/religion. I have had two Hindu friends express oblique interest in my son for their daughters. Bohat fascinating laga mujh ko.

I follow certain people who are obsessed with decolonization and Palestine or the stolen artefacts at the British museum & they incessantly share the pop culture they partake in, all of which is Brit or American. And they see no irony.

Clean the bathroom, the fridge, do the laundry, fold the laundry, vacuum, swiffer, cook, do grocery, put away grocery, push back the thought of all the drawers & cabinets that need to be organised better. Do jobs that earn you money. And then have spare time leftover for ‘passion projects’. Hah!

I hate gold. My mother bought me a bracelet a couple of decades ago that I immediately lost because it dropped off of my wrist. She got me another (darned expensive) one, it got stolen. And today I lost a third one. Hate it so much. Never never buying gold again.

I read slowly and with deliberation and yet only retain few of the details after a while. Need to keep going back. Do not understand how people read thick tomes in days & remember every detail.

I see tweets from rich feudal politicians’ sons on Twitter expressing deep outrage towards the system and I don’t get it. This person wants to torture a govt official and gives graphic details of it & yet he is deeply ingrained in the system himself
