Redoing my recovery week because I did not take it easy enough or eat enough last week and I still feel kind of beat up. I know I'm too old to be taking ego to the gym, but "I can do better" is a hard mental habit to break especially because it serves me well in other settings

Tonight's film: Under the Silver Lake (2018)
I thought this was a gem, and loved it, but I understand why people wouldn't like it. It's a nice addition to the "idiot in LA noir" genre that also includes Inherent Vice and The Big Lebowski.

Tonight's film: Under the Silver Lake (2018)
I thought this was a gem, and loved it, but I understand why people wouldn't like it. It's a nice addition to the "idiot in LA noir" genre that also includes Inherent Vice and The Big Lebowski.

a year ago I decided I wanted to stop sucking at guitar and started practicing 3x a week. That grew as I found myself enjoying it more, and almost 200 practices (and about that many hours) later, I'm still not great but I'm competent enough that I'm happy, and I look forward to getting even better!

I don't care how you talk to me in suit, but I have had a lot of struggling with people treating me like I'm an NPC who only exists for their enjoyment, and it's kind of ruined fursuiting for me
I wish that when fursuiting, ppl interacted with with them as a character instead of just approaching & saying "your fursuit is so cute !!"

inspired by CLAUDE.md, I’ve started putting markdown files named after coworkers into work code repos so I can remind them to stop doing shit to the codebase that annoys me

Now reporting to my former skip boss, and they're substantially better.
But they are one of those people that never puts anything in writing and instead hunts you down for face-to-face talks. I can deal with that, at least.

first real interaction with new boss was me asking a private question about the plans because I have no clue what's going on, and them responding with a wall of AI slop that didn't answer my question but accused me of being "adversarial"

My big goal for February is to figure out some better coping mechanisms now that I'm not drowning in existential stress about work
Work is still uncertain, but I've got a base of good habits outside of work that get me to unplug like exercise and music.
Cutting back weed is going to suck.
