I've been playing around with a similar concept, with the idea that humans should be able to see and vaguely understand what an agent is doing, even if they aren't programmers.

No one believes me when I tell stories of my past dog Xanadu escaping our house on a regular basis. She could open any dog crate, any door. Didn't matter if it opened inward and had a deadbolt. She'd have it open in seconds.

Valid but I doubt that is how leadership is thinking about it. My guess is they use this as a proxy for adoption (and thus adaptation).

IDEs like Windsurf and Cursor report these metrics, ostensibly to show how useful they are. But BigTech has started aggregating such metrics across ICs, teams, and mgrs. I can only guess how they are being used.

DYK: BigTech has started reporting metrics such as Accepted Completions and has AI-assisted coding modules during interviews. Which is to say, BigTech is already actively filtering out those that can't adapt.
