This is such sad news. This book underpinned my whole career as a teacher of reading. I still recommend and share it regularly. Especially important as talk is now top of the agenda once more..
Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Aidan Chambers. His reflections on reading, the environments that nurture it, and the centrality of talk have profoundly shaped the way I understand and teach literature. His influence will remain with me always.
