Binti - Nnedi Okorafor
5⭐️
This is a short sci-fi fantasy, book one of a trilogy. Detailed world building, beautiful storytelling, compelling topics such as colonialism, xenophobia, community, heritage; all packed in to a concise story. It was outside of what I normally read but worth every minute.

Wisteria - Adalyn Grace

If you’ve heard of the Belladonna series and have thought about trying it, take this as your sign. Wisteria, the third installment, brought the story full circle in the loveliest way. I already want to reread the series before the novella is released in September.

The Black Bird Oracle - Deborah Harkness
⭐️5
The second sequel to the A Discovery of Witches series. A beautiful reentry into Harkness’ magical world of witches, vampires, & daemons. History, mystery, nostalgia, fear & desire. I enjoyed reading about a well established married couple w/kids for once.

First review of the year:
The Winter King by C. L. Wilson

Usually I will post the cover art, but I didn’t want to scare you away. It’s so bad.

My rating: 4.2 ⭐️
Classic fairytale vibes. Romance story in a high fantasy setting. High-stakes arranged marriage. Powerful MC’s. Deceptions & betrayals.

Now that Booktok is gone, I’m going to be recording my 2025 reads on Bluesky. So what do we call this, Booksky? Sure, maybe. I read mostly fantasy and romantasy, so give me a follow if you want spoiler-free reviews and recs.
