Let's post some more old stuff - these props from last year were some of the first I made in my move into more NPR art.

I remember getting so caught up in trying to find the "right answers" at the time, and now a year on there's lots I'd do differently. There's no substitute for time and practice.

Sometimes the smallest things have the biggest impact on your workflow.

Figuring out you can press X,Y,Z, with the Knife tool in Blender was one of those things. Combining it with C to cut-through a mesh and it's perfect for all sorts of topology solutions.

#b3d Tip - I've been having fun with the interpolation modes for keyframes in Blender recently. It makes animating cameras a lot easier and instantly adds a dynamic feel to the movement.

New week, new tip! @adobe.bsky.social Substance Painter one this time.

Saving your file with a lower texture set resolution lowers the file size dramatically (especially on larger files). Without loss of data.

#tip Did you know you can render the viewport (animation or still) directly from Blender?

Go to View -> Viewport Render Image (or Animation)

Really useful for those "behind the scenes" type of shots 🎬

#b3d Having the Blender startup file setup is a way to ensure structure to my work (and have some settings enabled on start).

A folder structure for my #gameart workflow, some shader settings and the polycount view. What am I missing?

This Pie Menu from @machin3.bsky.social my biggest timesavers in Blender. Being able to easily set the pivot and 3D cursor to geometry or world origin and to move objects to those points easily is worth a lot!

This alone would be worth buying the add-on, but it does so much more!

#WipWednesday - I like to break my environments into smaller pieces and focus on one for a session. This one's the result of a chill morning.

Materials + textures will come when the whole model is done. For now just testing lighting.
