Apparently I kept one of the buggy builds from when I was making my Mario Bros. (NES) disassembly, aptly named "MarioBrosDis_Bump and your doomed.nes".

heres an irregular gaming update. I beat Mr. Nutz SNES. I didn't really like it. The music is good and the graphics are decent, but the gameplay is brought down by trial and error and frustrating enemy placements and odd collision. It's nothing special anyway, there are better 2D platformers to pick

Asterix for the NES has some of the best 8-bit chiptunes IMO my opinion, by talented Alberto González.

Like this awesome title theme for example. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7iJ...

I've been a bit more motivated to work on the disassembly of that mystery game (especially since I got through some boring stuff), delving into its scripting revealed more debug leftovers and a few oddities. Fun stuff.

Freak no nut november! In the act of defiance, I am going to...

So I decided to extract Find Love or Die Trying: Til Death Do Us Part's files because I was curious about something development-related, and I learned that Terra the gamer girl's sprites have bunny stockings and slippers. Something you never see in the game proper. Cute.

Are you team light mode or dark mode? Personally, I am split. I use "Ash" on Discord because I think it looks terrible in light mode, but otherwise I don't mind light mode like on Youtube or Bluesky.

oh yeah, it's Playstation 2's 25th anniversary (in the US).

The latest PS2 game I played was Killzone, and I enjoyed it. It's a bit clunky with uneven difficulty, but I had a good time. the guns feel nice enough, and the visuals are good.

they should make a new Love Live! game with Kasumi Nakasu as the protagonist. I promise it'll sell a million copies, and they'll all be my copies.

while editing my new halloween Discord avatar, I noticed that Boo looks odd when you remove its stubby arm. Like it becomes bald.

You can rejoice, I have gotten all achievements in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and posted my review on Steam. I will stop talking about Rune Factory for a while.

Not that I have to apologize for anything since this is my heap of trash account that you followed, but you know.

One of the ways I come up with custom levels for super mario world is by listening to custom music. Fun music can inspire the setting or gimmicks or what have you.

I just learned that XSeed/Marvelous called Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma a "bold" take on Rune Factory series in their autumn sale announcement.

I guess it IS bold to strip out much of the complexity and engagement...

kinda wish I had buddies who liked rune factory as much as I do, so i could compla- err, discuss Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma and other games.
October 18, 2025 at 11:57 AM
I just now realized Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma's fatal flaw. There's actually not a whole lot to do if you think about it. The farming takes care of itself with villagers, doing generic ema plaques isn't very engaging, and there's little gratification in doing combat or fishing on its own.

You know what they say, love is blind. Which means it can overlook the egregious sense of humor.

What is your definition of "retro"? Are Gamecube and its games retro? Is Nintendo DS retro? Xbox 360? Or do you think only the ancient Atari Jaguar and NES games are retro?
October 16, 2025 at 9:20 AM
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole for Nintendo DS was one of the most average gaming experiences I had. It's an interesting blend of flight sim and RPG mechanics, but the game is fairly repetitive, and the combat is quite basic. It's kind of ambitious for a licensed game, but falls flat.
