Literally just CEO group think. Rapid shift to self-checkout and the post-pandemic crime spike led to a rise in shoplifting. They overreacted and had to walk it back.

It was always wild when they would lock up candy bars. Like dog, those are by the register because they're impulse buys, the ease of just tossing them in the cart was their whole selling point. If you're that worried about theft of a 2$ item, you might as well not sell them.

This is why Shield and sword were terrible pokemon games. S+V I actually liked the story and world, I enjoyed the gameplay for Arceus. Pokemon has been so hit or miss lately.

This is honestly how it should be. When you are irreplaceable, you can't take time off. Every job at a company should have at least one redundant person who can do it.

This sounds like the hospitality industry. These rules were in place at basically every hotel where I worked. You were also required to use a person's name three time in a transaction which made the market super awkward. It's just further pushing service workers to more demeaning class cosplay

It's kind of always been that way to a certain extent. Self-hating queers thinking the cis/hets will accept us if we just stop being pervs. The movie Cruising is undeniably homophobic, but part of the backlash stemmed from respectable gays not wanting to be conflated with "those gays."
