A silly mouse who thought they were too old to trick or treat has been trapped as a puffy festive pumpkin, mind swirling with Halloween cheer as they wobble from porch to porch, more candy pweease?~
Remick (they/them) the mouse is waddling down the sidewalk in costume while holding a jack o lantern candy bucket. They are dressed in a full body orange rubber jackolantern suit that leaves only the face and ears exposed. Some combination of thick diaper, air, or magic candy fattening has swollen their torso as big and round as an oversized pumpkin. Barely any of the legs are visible, with just booties on the pavement and maybe an inch above the ankle before vanishing into the bloated mass and forcing the waddle. The arms are stubby and small compared to the body and the hands are trapped in mittens with just one thumb for candy grabbing, useless for removing the suit they are stuck in. A rubber hood is pulled up over most of their head, topped with a leafy green pumpkin stem. A pacifier is in their mouth and their eyes are wide, happy, and have hypnotic rings of green and orange.

Panel 1 (Left): Hal (human OC of @Yourboyhal) Is seen walking down a forest path. Looking around mostly at the fauna and ignoring the giant goopy puddle in front of them. Panel 2-3 (Middle Top/Top Right): Hal's shoe makes a loud "PL-OP!" landing directly into the puddle. Suddenly, "Pack-Leader" Highwire (Fortnite Character) emerges from the thick substance, grabbing on to Hal's ankles with a devious expression. Panel 4 (Bottom Right) : Highwire leaps from the puddle and tackles Hal. Her body now somewhat formed, attaches itself to the human as she makes a gleeful expression. Happy to have come upon a new host. However, Hal themselves is completely taken aback. HW: "My My! You're just my type! What do you say to teaming up for a while?" Panel 5 (Top Left): Before Hal can even reply, The wolf grabs the human's arm and *SSSHOVES!** it within her body. HW: "Don't be shy! IN you go!" Panel 6 (Top Right): Highwire continues her goopy conquest, forming herself over Hal. Her body encasing around his as her features slowly solidify. Starting from the arm that had just been within her second prior all the way to his torso and lower body. She leans her head against his, egging him on to enjoy the process. HW: " C'mon! You're not being much of a team player! This is going to benefit BOTH of us! Don't you wanna get a lesson on instincts from a pro? Don't tell me you're a square..." Panel 7 (Bottom Left): With his body now fully encased, Hal turns around to inspect himself, tugging at his new body. The suit seems to stretch and morph with each tug, making just the thought of removal seem extremely cumbersome. He blushes at his wagging tail with almost makes up half the length of his new body. Trying to stop it with more "TUG TUG TUG'ing. Highwire simply watches, her displaced head floating above Hal's. snickering to herself at the interaction. HW: "Seems you aren't a total bummer... I can tell you one thing: That wagging ain't mine. Don't gotta hide what you like around me! I don't judge! Especially when what's attractive is yours truly! but hey, you're a bit of a howl yourself..." Panel 8 (Bottom Right): Hal relents slightly, being a bit found out on his the enjoyment of the moment. Highwire sensing this acceptance, nuzzles closely as she encases what remains exposed of him. "You're gonna LOVE this! Don't you worry your pretty little head. Now... MAKE WAY!" Panel 9( Top Panel): Highwire begins to encase the rest of Hal's head. Gooping and smacking audibly heard as she contorts herself to fit her host. Hal embracing highwire, forms a smile that can be slightly seen during the process before being fully subsumed. With that highwire's features fully SNAP into place. HW: "Is that a smile I feel? Now you're gettin' the memo! Keep that on while be kickin' tail, okay? A happy host keeps me at my apex!" Panel 10(Bottom Panel): Highwire and Hal Leap off the railing, escaping the forest path and making their way below. The two make contact within a shallow river-bed, landing (somewhat) heroically. The water around them splashing as their leg, hand and knee save their fall with a SPLASH! We can see an internal shot of Hal from within with a proper wolf like grin and pink iris', now fully in sync with HighWire. HW: "TIME TO HUNT!"

In taking up a bookshop audio project, I set about finding reading to recommend, as I like to leave folks with something to stoke their love of reading if I can.

I found one of my favorite short stories is REALLY HARD TO FIND.
