Just a reminder to never use Euronet ATMs. They're basically a scam. Got charged €55.95 for a €50 withdrawal

Well the online bank N26 decided it's time for me to verify that my details are still up to date - I have until early December or my account will be suspended. Fair enough, I go in to double check them.

Suddenly, the address that I have registered on my account isn't 'valid' anymore.

I swear I've heard English people refer to the ground i.e. the surface beneath your feet when outside as 'the floor'

This is always particularly jarring to hear

These bike stands I saw today in Seoul definitely made me do a double take - very aesthetically pleasing and rather unique

Beannachtaí na Féile Bríde oraibh go léir!

The first day of spring in our Gaelic calendar and the festival of Imbolc.

It's lovely to see the evenings getting longer again

I got rid of my lease car and now commute by public transit and bicycle and it's saving me €7800 per year.

The costs of car ownership or even leasing can't be overstated.

And more importantly, I've incorporated exercise into my daily routine and feel so much better because of it.

Renovations until 2028? That seems like an excessively long time to be closed. But then again it's Ireland.. @nmireland.bsky.social

A reminder that good tech companies still exist and it's more important than ever to support them.

A good example is Ecosia, a search engine that uses the ad revenue it generates to restore biodiversity by planting trees - ones that are native to the areas in question.

Ecosia - the search engine that plants trees
Ecosia uses 100% of its profits for the planet and produces enough renewable energy to power all searches twice over.

Private transport peaked with the bicycle.

Public transport peaked with the train.

These two modes in combination have the potential to satisify the vast majority of people's travel needs.

P.s. Bus also good.
