San Franciscans deserve housing security, not displacement. The Mayor’s Family Zoning Plan still leaves more than 20,000 rent-controlled homes vulnerable to demolition. Thank you to Supervisors Fielder, Chan, Chen, and Walton for standing with tenants and working families.

I’m in my influencer era
Join DSA SF and @jackiefielder.bsky.social at city hall Monday at 12 to rally for a Muni measure that grows service while protecting tenants!
The MuniForever proposal:
- expands service by 10%
- prohibits tax pass-throughs to rent-controlled tenants
- shifts tax burden onto corporations and mansions

If only it hadn’t been delayed multiple times with a floundering public-private partnership with Cubic 🥲
Clipper 2 is a huge deal from a fare equity perspective. Transfer agencies on your ride? You won't pay the base fare twice anymore! That's $100+ back to daily commuters every month.
Starting next week, riding this bus and most other buses to BART will be FREE!

Clipper 2 rolls out on December 10, including free and low cost transfers between all transit agencies.

Riders will automatically receive discounts up to $2.85 when transferring within a two hour window.

If someone's response to an effort to fund social housing is to complain about how a ballot campaign was run 5 years ago, I'm going to interpret that as they oppose social housing, and they are an obstacle to be routed around.

Either option is disqualifying imo.

In addition, Bilal has one of the most conservative voting records in recent BoS history. I's like to see some acknowledgement of this from a self-proclaimed "progressive".

... "blocked housing".

These are the same talking points used by Grow SF and other neoliberal attackers. My take is that either a) he was extremely uninformed about local politics and did not think much about a $10k+ donation, or b) he was informed but cannot admit that he was wrong about Bilal.

For context: I am a DSA SF member and went to one of Saikat's SF resident zoom calls.

When I asked Saikat why he donated to Bilal, he said he believed they were both progressives but he though Bilal would do more to get housing built, and that he was disappointed in some of Dean's votes that...

The SF Chronicle recently compared Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, mayor-elect of NYC, to Levi's heir Daniel Lurie. They could not be more different.

Facts: “The report shouldn’t be a shock to anyone...because zoning is just one factor of 100. I’m afraid ‘We’re going to sue the government until the capital markets do what we want’ is basically the textbook definition of San Francisco YIMBYism.” - @uhshanti.bsky.social

I don’t mean to imply that living in the suburbs makes you a racist, but you have to know how history has impacted the modern state of our cities.

Ope looks like someone didn’t want to acknowledge that they may have benefited from systemic racism
August 10, 2025 at 11:11 PM
The way to fight racist power imbalances between landlords & tenants isn’t more private property. It’s fighting for tenants associations, tenants rights, and tenants protections to build democratic community power.

If you can’t see that all suburban wealth, including yours, is built on racial and economic segregation, then how are you supposed to begin to right these historical wrongs?
